Amulet Day 95/100

Tic Tac Toe…the center lace portion of this amulet was Handprinted (by me), using a xerox of a hand crocheted doily on a thermos-fax machine to make a screen imprint. 1997 was the year Jean Ray Laura’s book, Imagery on Fabric, was published—and it led to a ton of fun and innovation. As well as, kicked off the surface design movement in the quilt world! If you don’t know of her, and you want to learn who the real influencers were, check her out on online. I also mono printed the border fabric in a class I co-taught with Karen Berkenfeld shortly after the Full Deck Quilt exhibit (54 quilts like a deck of cards) started it’s 6 year traveling “run” with the Smithsonian and landed in my hometown of Williamsport, PA. *I was the 6 of diamonds. Green pearls for the win and three leaves at the bottom for balance.
