Amulet Day 57/100

This is Daikoku, one of 7 Lucky Gods in Japan (all originating in India), who, along with his pal Ebisu (*see Day 30), are deemed the Japanese kitchen gods. Usually he’s shown wearing a black hat and straddling two bales of rice, with his big treasure sack slung on his back and a mallet that grants wishes. The mallet charm below has two temple name inscriptions including Sensoji, his “home” temple, and Sanjusangendo, in Kyoto, where I bought it.
