Current Exhibitions

Three Friends,” one of Susan’s hand appliquéd fiber collages, was juried into “100 Miles,” the 2023 Regional Exhibition that celebrates the diverse and artistic talent of central Pennsylvania artists working in a variety of media. Sponsored by The Gallery at Penn College, an extension of Penn State University in Williamsport, PA, conveniently located at the junctures of Rt. 15 & Rt. 80. The exhibit runs from June 1 – July 20, with a reception scheduled for June 4.

Susan’s quilt, “Indigo Patchwork,” was juried into the 2023 Pennsylvania Regional Group Exhibition of the Studio Art Quilt Association. Titled “Textiles Unleashed,” the exhibition will be held at the Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art (SAMA), located on the campus of St. Frances University, 112 Franciscan Way, Loretto, PA. 15940. “Purpose-Repurpose,” a tri-regional juried exhibit of professional artist members from the Studio Art Quilt Association (SAQA), is enjoying a second venue at the Chambersburg Council for the Arts, located at 103 No. Main Street in Chambersburg, PA, from February 17-April 23, 2023. Susan’s Arigato Boro Boro Byobu 10: Peach from her Boro Boro Series is on view. Contact the Council’s Gallery Coordinator, Andrea Finch for open hours and related events. The Susquehanna Art Society launched its annual online members’ exhibit on February 20, 2023. Susan’s “Woodlands,” a framed fabric construction with Japanese sashiko stitching is on view. A portion of the 54-piece quilt collection from 1994, “Playing With A Full Deck,” is currently on view at its new permanent home, The Visions Museum of Textile Art, through May 27. Susan’s “Six of Diamonds” is not included in the current group, but you CAN view it HERE, among the entire online presentation in alpha order.

 The Textile Study Group of New York‘s produced an outstanding Fall 2022 Online Gallery, #33. Included in this online juried exhibit is one of Susan’s framed sashiko works titled, “Concentric Lines: Blue & White Diamonds.” Follow the link above and scroll down.

Recent Exhibitions

During the month of February 2023, Susan exhibited 3 pieces in the Lewisburg Arts Council 9th Annual Members Show at Gallery 255 of the Public Library for Union County, located in Lewisburg, PA.

Susan was the invited Artist for the Month of December 2022 at 45W Art & Café in Mifflinburg, PA. This solo exhibit, titled “Kamon: Japanese Family Crests,” featured 13 small patchwork framed works  with Japanese heraldic images, many of which can be viewed in the QEJAPAN web SHOP.

Stroll Through the Arts:  For the fifth year in a row, Susan was among a select group of regional artists in various mediums invited to display their work in downtown Lewisburg from OCT 15-22, 2022. Click HERE to see the portfolio of artists.

BLUE was the title of Susan’s 2022 solo invitational exhibit that featured her Japan-inspired fiber art with a specific nod to indigo. Curated by the museum’s director, Sabrina Grey Wilson, Susan was the premier fiber artist at the Milton Art Bank. See a video walkthrough of the show and selected works on this website here.

Homage to Shizu

Susan’s Homage to Shizu, a mixed-media, work was awarded second prize in the Masters Level: Other & Photography category at the Susquehanna Art Society’s 2022 annual members’ show held at the Degenstein Community Library in Sunbury, PA. *See side image.
