Arigato: Boro Boro Byobu 10 — Peach (detail)

1. One of my fiber collages from the 2005-2011 Arigato Boro Series was juried into the SAQA MD/DC/WV regional show titled Purpose/Repurpose. Comprised of Japanese vintage kimono remnants, “Peach” is now on view at the Strathmore Mansion in N. Bethesda, MD, through October 29. Click HERE for more details. A color catalog is available on Amazon. If you can’t go, there are lots of images on Instagram under the SAQA MD/DC/WV regional page.

2. Stroll Through the Arts: A select group of regional artists in various mediums are invited to display their work in downtown Lewisburg shop windows for 10 days in conjunction with this local annual event. Click HERE to see the artists for this year. My work will again be in the window of Barnes & Noble bookstore, on the Market Street side, at the corner of 4th Street. Dates are Oct 15-22. If you are coming, give me a holler. I’d love to meet you there.

3. Just posted: TEN new pieces on the QEJAPAN website in various sections of the SHOP. Click HERE to see all that’s new on one page! Purchases on the website are via Paypal, but if you see something you love, email me. I can offer a discount for direct payment by check.

Get Your “100 AMULETS” Book Before It’s Gone

100 Amulets by Susan Ball Faeder © Susan Ball Faeder

Published in April 2022, this little treasure of a book walks you through my journey of making one amulet every day for 100 days in a row. Each amulet has its own page and accompanying story revealing details about Japanese fabric and 50 years of travel in Japan. Read more about the book HERE. I estimate that there are about 150 copies left from the run of 400. It will NOT be reprinted and it does NOT sell in bookstores or on Amazon; You can only purchase it from the publisher, Pretzel City Press (payment by credit card now accepted), or me.  The cost of this beautiful 200-page book is $46.60 ($40 for the book + $2.40 @6% PA sales tax + $4.20 S/H via USPS media mail). If you’d like your copy personalized — and you don’t mind paying by check — the most expeditious way to order is to make your check out to Pretzel City Press BUT send it directly to me. Contact me for my address.

P.S. I have since completed 31 additional amulets beyond the original 100. If you would like to have your own personal amulet or wish to make a gift to a friend, I am accepting commissions through the end of the year. Contact me HERE.

    1. Hello my friend. I hope you are well. In my mind’s eye, I see your happy face in the little shop in Okinawa that sold fabric dyed with green tea.
