An original pattern by Susan Ball Faeder (owner of QETJ) showing Interlaced Hearts of various shapes and sizes, this is a fun beginner pattern. Instructions take you through the basic “how to” of the stitch and include tips on how to make your sashiko flat and smooth. You can follow the design on the front, and then move on to create your own compositions of hearts, inspired by other examples shown inside the pattern. If working with 14” wide kimono cloth, you will need about ˝ yard (to include a little extra for practicing your stitch beforehand).
Although not yet shown on the website, we do carry Japanese sashiko thread in MANY colors (including the pinks shown in this example), packages of sashiko needles, and Susan’s favorite markers: a silver pencil and the white powder heart-shaped Chalkoner Japanese marking tool. Please mention if you need these. We also carry authentic hand-dyed Japanese Indigo in several choices, found easily in our Indigo and Sashiko section.
